Galaxy Watch Active 2 ECG و Fall Detection

We exclusively revealed the first images of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 shortly after confirming that this smartwatch has been developed. We now have more information about the wearable device, especially about the new health-related features it will offer.

As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be available in 44mm and 40mm sizes. The design will be the same and neither will have a rotating bezel like previous Samsung smartwatches. The decision Samsung made with the original Galaxy Watch Active to remove the bezel was not a single one.

Our sources revealed that the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will take a page from the Apple Watch Series 4 book and contain an ECG app. It will enable users to take an EKG from their wrist. The app will allow users to capture the heart rhythm when they experience symptoms such as a fast, skipped, decreased, or irregular heartbeat. The data can then be shared with the doctors to obtain an expert opinion.
Galaxy Watch Active 2 provides Afib notifications as well

The device will also be able to provide users with atrial fibrillation radiations, or Afib, by occasionally checking the heart rhythm in the background. It is the most common type of irregular rhythm and, if left untreated, can lead to a stroke. So this function will be a welcome addition to the smartwatch. Since Apple has been required to obtain FDA clearance for these features, it's very likely that Samsung will require that as well. This means that the features may not be available at launch.

Galaxy Watch Active 2 will have fall detection. This feature will work much the same way it does on the Apple Watch Series 4. If the device detects a hard drop while on the wrist, it will display an alert on the screen and also vibrate to push the user. They can use one-click options to either call emergency services or dismiss the alarm. If the smartwatch does not get a response in a preset period of time, it will automatically call emergency services and also send messages to the user's emergency contacts.

It is not yet clear when the Galaxy Watch Active 2. will be released. Some suggest it may have launched alongside the Galaxy Note 10 on August 7. Samsung has yet to confirm anything regarding a wearable device at this point. We will update you if more information about the Galaxy Watch Active 2 appears.
